Marissa Fleming Thetford is a Mobile Bay native who grew up in Fairhope, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama where she received her bachelor’s degree in advertising. For more than 15 years she has worked with big brands and small companies to create award-winning campaigns and secure local and national editorial placement for clients in both agency settings and in-house as the Marketing Director for a large retailer. In August 2017, she launched Marissa Thetford Marketing, LLC. With the start of her own business, her goal remains the same. Build great brands and tell great stories. It's what she loves to do.

Her professional achievements earned Marissa a spot in Mobile Bay Magazine's coveted Top 40 Under Forty class in recognition of her contributions as a young professional to the Mobile Bay market and she’s been named a "Woman to Watch" by Access Magazine. She is a current member of the Mobile Chapter of The Public Relations Council of Alabama where she served on the board of directors for five years. She is also a member of the Southern Public Relations Federation and the Downtown Fairhope Business Association. Marissa's community involvement and volunteer activities have spanned The Fairhope Education Enrichment Foundation, The Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival Foundation, The Thomas Hospital Foundation, FUSE Project, and The Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center Junior Advisory Board. In 2023, Marissa served as the co-chairman for the Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival, the gulf coasts largest outdoor fine art show which attracts more than 300,000 visitors to the city. She was honored to return in 2024 as chairman of the 72nd Annual Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival, and recently accepted the invitation to serve another term as chairman for 2025.

Marissa lives in Fairhope, Alabama with her husband Joseph, two boys, Dimmick and Jack, and their golden doodle, Betty. When she is not busy running boys to baseball games and sailing practice, she's telling the stories of the awesome small businesses and organizations in our community and enjoying life on Mobile Bay.
